The EXCLUSIVE Provider of Synovasure® Introduces an Expanded Test Menu for Orthopaedics

CD Diagnostics is pleased to announce the availability of the following tests through our CLIA laboratory, Citrano Medical Laboratories:

Synovasure® PJI & NSA Consists of tests for alpha defensin, CRP, and hemoglobin in synovial fluid for diagnosis of joint infection. Validated for diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infection and native septic arthritis
Synovial Fluid Culture Anaerobic and aerobic blood culture bottles incubated for 7-14 days. Includes organism identification and antibiotic susceptibilities. Shoulder specimen cultures are supplemented with horse blood to enhance growth
Synovial Fluid WBC Count Automated high performance cell count system includes white blood cell (WBC) count with differential. Elevated WBC counts confirmed by manual cell count.
Synovial Fluid Human Neutrophil Elastate (HNE) The HNE assay was validated versus the Leukocyte Esterase test strip and is intended to be a substitute for the LE test strip as one of the MSIS minor criteria. The HNE assay is an ELISA based assay that does not have the significant invalid rate due to blood contamination as seen when using th eLE test strip. The HNE assay has been validated using MSIS cutoffs for WBC count and % neutrophils.
Synovial Fluid Crystal Analysis Monosodium urates (MSU) and Calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal determination using polarized microscopy
Synovasure® MI (Metal Ion) Determines concentrations of cobalt and nickel in whole blood or serum
Renal Function Measures kidney health as indicator of metal toxicity to vital organs
