Nat Brinn has a 25-year successful track record of private investments, acquisitions and business management. The most recent example is HSA Bank, the largest specialty bank in the United States focused on health savings accounts. Nat has successful management experience in growth companies, including his role as CEO of HSA Bank, where accounts and revenues grew four-fold and the firm developed a significant profit margin from an initial loss position.


Alan Davis, M.D.

BioStar Ventures

Dr. Davis is a highly regarded orthopedic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic as well as a team physician for the United States Olympic Team. He was an Academic All-American and Captain of one of Michigan State’s most successful football teams. He has been involved in multiple medical and metabolic technologies including those related to sports drinks and the metabolic needs of high performance athletes as well as computerized software design for maximized bio mechanical muscle training. Dr. Davis is also a member of the Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Peer Review Committee, which is part of the Cleveland Clinic Innovation. The committee evaluates any new ideas for new devices or products.

Katarzyna Mazur


Katarzyna Mazur-Hofsaess was appointed President, Europe, Middle East and Africa in April 2013. She is responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of products in the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) regions. Dr. Mazur-Hofsaess joined Zimmer in February 2010 as Senior Vice President, EMEA Sales and Marketing and was appointed President, EMEA Reconstructive in February 2012. She has more than 18 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical, diagnostics and medical device sectors. Prior to joining Zimmer, Dr. Mazur-Hofsaess served as Vice President, Diagnostics – Europe of Abbott Laboratories from 2001. She is a qualified Medical Doctor and also holds a Ph.D. from Gdansk Medical University in Poland, as well as an MBA from the Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Minnesota.

Matt Monaghan

Matt Monaghan is the former Vice President and General Manager of Zimmer's global hips business. In this role, Matt was responsible for all aspects of the Hips business, including delivery of nearly $1.6B in revenue, new product development, engineering, clinical studies, quality, regulatory affairs and marketing.


Robert Booth, M.D.

Dr. Booth is recognized by his peers as one of the leading experts on Total Knee Reconstructive surgery internationally. He is one of the designing surgeons of the Legacy Total Knee Replacement, one of the most successful implant designs in the history of orthopaedics. He performs more total knee replacements annually than any other surgeon in the world. Most recently, Dr. Booth developed the Gender Specific total knee replacement, which is the first implant to be designed to address the differences in male and female anatomy. Dr. Booth.s multiple awards include: Several Knee Society awards, the Sir John Charley award, the Jacob Ehrenzeller award and the Ranawat award. He lectures annually around the world on Total Knee Reconstructive surgery. He also participates annually in several projects to provide Total Knee Replacement surgery to impoverished areas.
